The furnace slag is used for producing cement and concrete as a building material, because the furnace slag has potential water hardening cementitious property, under the action of the activator like cement clinker,lime, and gypsum,etc, it can be used as high quality cement raw materials, it can be made into portland slag cement,slag-gypsum cement,lime slag cement,slag bricks,slag concrete,etc, it can be also used as a raw material for producing environmental protection cement bricks.
The furnace slag is formed by putting the blast furnace slag in molten state into the water to cool quickly, there are mainly two ways-water quenching in slag bath and water quenching in front of the furnace.
